6Inspired by traditional Italian pottery, these forward-facing hoop earrings feature lapis lazuli speckled gemstones set into multi-facetted crystals. These rich blue earrings are perfect for making a colourful statement.
Behind the name: Majolica is a style of tin-glazed earthenware and pottery, most notably from 15th century Italy. The designs usually feature renaissance-inspired iconography and the primary colour used was blue, with an extended palette of yellow, red and green.
A note on lapis lazuli: Known as the 'stone of rulers', in ancient times this stone was forbidden to commoners and worn only by royalty. Lapis lazuli is thought to enhance awareness, insight and intellect, bringing peacefulness and self acceptance. A symbol of wisdom and truth, this gemstone helps to promote communication and aid in the process of learning, as well as help to enhance memory. Usually deep blue in colour with golden flecks of pyrite.
