2 Nights In Paris

A girly trip to Paris- what could be better? 2 moms (Sally- @mor_style and I) and our two teenage daughters (Rosa and Annabelle) who have been best friends from birth... to celebrate Annabelle's 18th birthday.

There were specific places the girls wanted to see, and I have to say- I feel like we nailed it in 2 days. Here's a little guide to what we got up to...

We stayed in the La Marais area- a district that I have never been to before, and it was perfect for the girls- lots of cool little cafes, vintage shops and affordable boutiques.

We had lunch at Chez Janou on our first day. A great spot that is famous for its all you can eat chocolate mousse that's served at the table. We had a wonder around the shops afterwards - so many great vintage stores in La Marais (that sell high end designer vintage too).

Officine Universelle Buly is also in La Marais. A traditional Parisian store at its finest. With mahogany wood and apothecary style displays selling handmade and personally embossed combs in a font of your choice, perfumes in bottles you will treasure forever and candles in marble holders- all wrapped in the most beautiful packaging I have ever seen.

We brought some personalised combs and the divine Tuberose perfume, the packaging is exquisite

On our first night we had dinner at Baronne. A restaurant in the Hotel Salomon De Rothschild- not an actual hotel, but a grand town mansion that was once the home to the Rothschild family. It's an opulent dinner spot- we had drinks on the candel lit outdoor terrace first, dinner in the grand dining room which is stunning and cocktails with a DJ in the bar afterwards. The food, service and ambience were all impeccable.

The next day we did a golf buggy tour. A great way to see all of the sites without getting blisters. We saw all of the main sites and stopped off for photos too, you get to see so much of the city in the space of two hours.

We ended our tour at the Louvre and were ready for lunch- we hadn't booked but I knew Loulou was near by so we went to see if they had a table- as as luck would have it they did (I would recommend booking in advance though). I love Loulou, its the perfect lunch spot for a sunny day in Paris- right by the Louvre and all the main attractions, really cool vibe, view of the Eiffel Tower and the best Vodka pasta.

After lunch, we had a little stroll around the shops and went to the Polene store on Rue De Richelieu for Annabelle to get a treat for her birthday- there is often a queue here, and we had to wait for about 25 mins, but once you get in you are assigned an assistent and its a lovley experience. Next was a Coffee stop at Cafe Kitsune in the Palais Royal for matcha for the girls, a stop at the Saint Laurent kiosk for a branded lighter (eye rolls from the moms) and then on to a museum. As art lovers we went to the Musee d'Orsay as it has an amazing collection including Van Gough and Monet- plus there is never a queue and you don't have to pre book. Its right over the river form the Louvre and is in a beautiful building that used to be a train station.

On our second evening we had dinner booked at Gigi, so we had pre-dinner cocktails at Hotel Plaza Athenee as it's just next door. This is the hotel that Carrie from Sex and the City stayed in and famously screamed when she saw the Eiffel Tower from her balcony and its in the Golden Triangle on the luxury shopping street Avenue Montaigne. It's one of the grand hotels of Paris so nice to pop in and see.

Gigi is a fun spot for dinner with a view of the Eiffel Tower while it sparkles at night, a DJ and lots of cliche napkin twirling. The waiters get up and dance on the tables, as do the diners- our girls loved it. The interior is beautiful too. You need to book here, its really popular, especially with all the Instagrammers.

On our last day we did a little more shopping for Parisian souvenirs. I loved Astier De Villatte on Rue Saint Honore- My favourite ceramics- this little shop is heaven and full of beautiful pieces. I also loved Maison Bovrsier on Rue Du Pont Louis-Philippe- luxury stationary and wax seals (this street has loads of beautiful stationary stores).
