It has been a slow summer for me; no Italian La Dolce Vita, no flights to luxury resorts, not even as many beautiful summer dresses on repeat (usually my faves!) This year has been slow, steady and understated. Just what I needed.

Where I Have Been 

I took a trip to Tresco with my best friend of 23 years. Read the full guide here where I spill all the tea on this secret tropical island right here in the UK!

And while I may not have brushed my hair all week I still had my faithful jewels. Jewellery that grounds me, that my hand reaches for like a kind of safety blanket throughout the day and that offers me protection (especially when travelling, it's become a bit of a ritual for me).

What I wore

I found myself constantly wearing the Nautilo Charm with its comforting chunky 3D detail. I find it looks substantial enough worn hung from a chain alone or with a few other necklace layers. It actually looks best on the red Carmenta chain in my opinion, which would take you through to autumn perfectly.

For protection I always go for my Cornicello charm, I have done so for years, even before we had Soru. The first of these talismans I bought was on the island of Capri over 20 years ago! Red is my go to but we do now have this charm in an all gold version too if red isn't your thing.

What I'm Reading

Reading fiction for me is a REAL feat because it means switching off, it feels indulgent and it's not something I usually allow for myself. I began my own Substack recently (follow along here, would love to have you with me) and made a new friend who sent me a fiction book in the post! (One reason why Substack is so great) this made me take the time to put down my self help, scientific and religious deep dives and just be with a story, and it's a good one! I have not finished yet but it's beautifully written, inspiring and thought provoking - basically a middle aged woman just walks off from her family and responsibilities one day (kids are pretty much grown) to find time alone! It's called 'Ladder of Years' By Anne Tyler and if you want to be transported and switch off into slow mode I highly recommend it.

What We Are Working On

Leaving you with something very exciting! The film sequel to Practical Magic is released this October, the only thing about moving away from the summer season that I am looking forward to - I have been obsessed with this movie and the Owen sisters for as long as I can remember - I also self identify as a witch (we get to do that now don't we!?) This has inspired me and my sister to base our next collection around this vibe. Expect spells, moons, magic and of course beauty. Hoping to launch early October but will be dropping lots of previews on socials over the next few weeks.
